Weathering:
There are three types of weathering:

- The break up of rocks
- The broken rocks are called scree and that can be found at the foot of the cliff
- For example:
- Freeze-Thaw
- Salt Weathering
- Freeze-Thaw

- Caused by chemical changes
- Slightly acidic rainwater slowly dissolves certain rock types
- For example:
- Carbonation
- Carbonation
- For example:
- Plant roots grow in cracks in rocks
- Animals burrow into weak rocks
- Both of these actions can break rocks into smaller pieces
